Merry Christmas

Image
Many have been sent throughout history to walk this Earth and preach of peace, though on Christmas Jesus is celebrated for his effort. It has been written of how he encouraged this world to do as he did, A request which not huge in nature, though we still have a world where peace has yet to find a home. If we look in the mirror to find our judgement instead of into the eyes of another possibly one image at a time can find peace on Earth. Merry Christmas world, take up the torch of peace, all things are possible. From my home to yours, Merry Christmas and peace in the New Year.

Have a blesed Winter Solstice

Image
Winter Solstice is a time to remember and celebrate the spirit of not only the holidays, but also those who are no longer a part of your life in this world. Requesting the energy of time past to be a part of your energy now. A time to rest the seasons of the year in anticipation of a New Year, new planting, growing and harvesting of your desires for 2015.A time to keep in mind times past and your path of the future. Manifesting the seeds of desire and intent prior to the Spring Equinox and a time to remember all that was or ever will be is the now of the seeds to be planted through reflecting, anticipating and fulfilling your dreams and desires. Have a blessed Winter Solstice, Linda

Tune of the heart in giving - perfectly guided

I feel blessed to bless others and know that what comes easy to me, soothes others.  One of my clients took my arm and said "I know there is more to you than is said, can you help me?" I thought about what she was asking and keeping my job separate from the greater part of myself and told her a description of a man who was with her. I described her son to the smallest detail and told her of an event seen in regard to her mom which brought her peace. Jack, all it took today was fixing a cup of cocoa and adding a splash of creamer to make his day. Daily those who are in need of what might seen small, we are given the chance to be a messenger or healer in ways which might seem small in significance to us and yet create events and memories another will not forget. Grandiose can be the size of a mustard seed in how we choose to perceive and greater than life in how it is received. Smiling with your eyes can change the day for people who cross your path. Open window of spirit in Alzheimers

Image
I was sitting yesterday with Peaches, my Alzheimer’s patient on a day when putting two words together was a frustration and struggle. Her day was filled with a continual taxing and pounding of herself in not being able to function as she chose too. Although I see her every few days, the acceleration of this time in life seems to be on a fast track slipping from conscious thought to no thought at all being able to express in words as desired. Continually moving around as if running a race in keeping from the grip Alzheimer’s has placed on her, a rag in one hand dusting everything she touches as if object and dust rag will keep a connection open to all she has known becoming unknown.  Being one who finds game in not taking medication as if the pills were her nemesis in the struggle and yet from her years in the nursing field completely understanding nutrition can be her asset as well. We spent a good deal of time viewing the woods from her dining room window as she repeated...

Observations of Alzheimer's at the market

Image
Observing an individual with Alzheimer's has been fascinating to say the least. I have noticed a thought exchanged in the moment days later becomes a memory at times resurfacing. Days ago I promised my Alzheimer's client Peaches, I would take her for a car ride in her neighborhood if the weather was nice. Today when I showed up she had her purse and coat by the door and reminded me of the promise. Stating she chose to go to the market for a treat to take for a church meeting in the near future. Though the chances of the church meeting being part of her events in the days ahead were slim, I telephoned her daughter and let her know of the request for the market. Her daughter felt if I was up to the challenge, her mother had money on her card to pay for the transaction. After getting her bundled in her coat and into the car, she gave perfect directions to the local market in her neighborhood of over 50 years. Once inside, the time resembled a child in a candy store. She kn...

Assignments in the journey of life

Since 2008, I have worked what many would consider menial jobs in regard to the paycheck. Prior to this time, my financial package was over 60,000.00 a year, working my way to the top in my job classification and very empty inside in the process. I have been a bell ringer working 40 days in every kind of imaginable weather, cashier and working retail, call centers and caregiver. Starting down this path, I have looked at each job as an assignment. Never sure going in who the assignment was and when I realized the assignment a door would open to either exit the door or continue on to another assignment in the location/job I was in. At one point on a temp assignment I knew within 24 hours who that person was and exchanged emails. That person is still considered a blessing for doing so. A journey which has always provided what was needed on my behalf and the space to continue on. This universe does not always give us the blue print in knowing why we are in the position we are in, only...

It has been a good day

I was working with my Alzheimer's client today and at times she would become so frustrated with herself when a thought would slip into the void between what she was thinking and the words to express. Worried that tomorrow that thought might never come again. I asked her if anybody really had any certainty about tomorrow and what life would hold? She said that really we just don't know. So, where would that make you different from the rest of the world without Alzheimer's? She just responded we are kind of all in the same boat, she just has a name for her illness. I laughed with her on that one and suggested when this day ended, to just try to remember it was a good day and let go. At some point the illness will take her questions as it has taken many of her tasks away now she enjoyed. Her love of cooking has been replaced with all knobs removed from the stove for her own safety. I fixed her some hot soup for lunch and she refused to eat alone, so I shared some crackers w...

Just say thank you when it can't be explained

Image
More than once in my life, I have managed to lose the lenses out of my glasses only to discover the next time I picked them up the lenses were intact again. I will not bother to look at the computer without glasses, until they are fixed being online is just a non-issue in my life. Do I need an explanation of how they are repaired, not anymore, I just say thank you for the assistance and appreciate it for what it is. Not too long ago, I dropped them from my desk, picked them up with the remaining glass intact and set it aside. Within the hour when I looked again, all glass was once again intact. WE all have our helpers assisting in small and large ways each moment of our lives. Just say thank you, knowing you are never alone.

Jack and "Believing beyond the shadow of doubt"

Image
I spend part of my days working with hospice/chronically ill individuals. At this time, my main client is Jack. Jack was born in 1935, born and raised in southern CA and spent his early years since he was six folded into the Hollywood of that time. I find myself with him hurrying to finish all tasks, which keep his surroundings clean and comfortable and little by little have seen him emerge from an elderly man with little to say, to a man with so many stories from a time before I was even born. Remembering yesterday is not always clear to him, though remembering his past is fully intact, knowing Jack will probably not be of this world on any long term basis of this time makes his even more of a treasure to spend the NOW time of his life with.  For just awhile each day, I travel with him not only to the times of his younger years, but also to periods throughout his life and see, the smile of living come back to his face. To look at Jack now, still very young looking for hi...

All Hallows Eve activity - Prayer Box

Image
On this day of All Hallows Eve I have a project for you. If you do not already have one created, a prayer box can be your project for the day. Prayer boxes do not have to be fancy or elaborate, focus is always the power of intent in creating the prayer box. Mine is not a large box, within are the words: May this box be blessed with the continuous healing for all that are placed within May spirit bless and touch he who enters this space May all that afflicts each within this box, find healing and peace May you carry your dream into the light that you posses Many times as we go through the day we hear for another in need of prayer, requesting prayer and this is the time when simply jotting the request on a slip of paper to include in the box becomes the building of intent to send healing energy to another. On this day, a box can be created and as the sun lowers in your part of the world the box can be set outside to absorb the universal winds of nature into All Saints Day w...

Hawk nest?

Image
Looking up into this large old tree a huge nest was created in the branches, although I have not  seen the owner of this nest - usually a nest this large is owned by a hawk or large bird of that  nature. If I am lucky enough to spot the caretaker I will post the pic.

House feathers

Image
Over many years, I have found feathers laying inside in my house on any given day. The blue feather was found lying next to my bed when I woke in 2002. The single feather was found a few days ago here in my new home. Knowing it is not uncommon for our spiritual universe to either take or leave objects dense to physical energy - what is left behind has been welcomed. Always look for the oddities in life which cross your path, for what is odd; just might hold a meaning for you.

Finding an unexpected answer

On the morning of the day my mother would leave this world, my niece went into her bedroom at home and brought out a bible and simply stating, “Grandma told me if anything ever happened to her, this bible was to be given to you. She knew you would want it.” Oddly, I had never remembered requesting a bible be left to me, nor am I one who in earnest has devoted a great deal of time since my early years in studying the bible. I took the bible as the gift given and knowing mom had some greater purpose in doing so. Occasionally I have looked through the pages seeing if she left a note or phrase significant to the reason, as of yet none have been found in her writing. My grandmother carried the bible her adult life as well, with grandma’s notes from a century ago on the pages.  Personally an internal wrestling match has been going on inside of myself for many years in relation to using the tool of healing and taking any kind of reciprocation in doing so. In my own mind, I would...
