A Cat and Dog story

A Cat and Dog Story    Alex Trebeck injured while chasing burglar in hotel room   It is odd how a story we read triggers a memory seeming rather disconnected, but yet seem to relate to a story. :-) I was reading this article tonight and it reminded me of a year ago. I have a black cat almost 10 years old and about a year ago,  a kitten was added to the family named Lilo. Throw into the mix a White Pyrnese/Retriever mix weighing in at over 82 pounds, who tolerant of cats - at times chose to act upon a Sylvester and Tweety personality and would chase the kitten. Much to the dismay of my black cat - Chelah.    One day as he chased Lilo, Chelah was sitting on a dining room chair in watch as Lilo ran towards the dining room table. With about a seven foot distance between the dog and Chelah, as the kitten jumped towards a chair - Chelah took flight through midair towards the dog, landing on his head while the kitten safely watched. Breaking the chase and then dropping to the floor with a lou

Our Messages we live by

Our Messages we live by This evening a group of young boys came together for an end of season awards night and picnic. Seven year olds, brought together by chance this year to become a baseball team for their division. The first night of practice, the coach took all the boys to the other side of the diamond for a talk – away from any ears, which was listening from outside the small group newly formed.  Tonight, the families were told of what transpired in that first group talk from the coach. Rules to live by were given, not only for the season; but hopefully rules they would keep in life.  1.       Be a team player and support your teammates as a new family in your life. 2.       No bad language 3.       Do the best “YOU” can do! 4.       Have FUN! As I listened, number three took over my thoughts for the moment. My own Dad’s method of raising children was through learning life lessons, rather than just hearing a judgment whether you were good or bad, needed improvement or h

From the mind of Alzheimer’s

From the mind of Alzheimer’s An extended family member of a friend of mine, years ago developed Alzheimer’s. Jewel was her name, and perfectly symbolic for a part of who she was. Before I knew of Jewel, her family for some time had been caring for her with the disease. Though at times she was still lucid, much of her time was spent either oblivious to present life or outraged. I have been mystified by this disease for years and had sought without much luck in connecting to a person with Alzheimer’s disease.  After the family agreed for me to work with Jewel and connect with her energy, my request was to connect with the energy in a space she was at the time. I could see a grand ballroom from decades past, white tablecloths and a rose on each table in a vase. As the band played on stage, Jewel and two other women were having the time of their lives. Full of joy, dancing and being young – probably their early twenties with the scene of the ballroom being so complete in her life. I w

Sansara

Sansara  Photo by Christa Myers-Lewis all rights reserved If I could picture a beautiful site, my first impression would be the ocean with dolphins leaping from the water. Within the vision, a very bright light appeared between the dolphins. Concentrate on the light you see. For we are traveling to a world where just such a vision is true. The world of Sansara. Sansara is a world yet to be known to the Earth world. Sansara is a beautiful star in a universe far beyond present Earth knowledge. But yet, ever so close. Sansara is a world of ocean, coloring the world with multitudes of shades combining blue and green. Land area on Sansara, though small in comparison to the ocean, holds a resting space of observation to those who choose to be part of a world beyond the needs of massive formations of land. The sea shines brightly on Sansara, creating prisms of light as the light touches the water. Rainbows of all colors fill the world above the ocean world. Sansara is o

“Markers” on Life’s Highway

“Markers” on Life’s Highway Each person, through life has created markers, which identify their life. Born of tradition, events, comparisons to others or personal accomplishments these markers over time become points of life with the most rapid recall. At times when grouped together, a marker might also become an indentity of your life.  Watching the VIEW this morning, a guest host identified as a bestselling author who was S.E. Cupp. A marker created as an author now, preceded her name. Two markers merged - as one identity outside of her identity as a person. Not thought as being uncommon, J.K. Rowling identified as the author, before the personal history. Today, I seemed to take note on a personal level since I had not heard of the author or person before and yet a national TV show felt presumptuous the viewing audience had. If the introduction had been for the person who was also an author, I would have felt more drawn to investigate the books as a separate entity of who she
