A Cat and Dog story

A Cat and Dog Story

It is odd how a story we read triggers a memory seeming rather disconnected, but yet seem to relate to a story. :-) I was reading this article tonight and it reminded me of a year ago. I have a black cat almost 10 years old and about a year ago,  a kitten was added to the family named Lilo. Throw into the mix a White Pyrnese/Retriever mix weighing in at over 82 pounds, who tolerant of cats - at times chose to act upon a Sylvester and Tweety personality and would chase the kitten. Much to the dismay of my black cat - Chelah.

One day as he chased Lilo, Chelah was sitting on a dining room chair in watch as Lilo ran towards the dining room table. With about a seven foot distance between the dog and Chelah, as the kitten jumped towards a chair - Chelah took flight through midair towards the dog, landing on his head while the kitten safely watched. Breaking the chase and then dropping to the floor with a loud "OWWW" coming from Chelah. The old boy found out although his intentions were good - the body just didn't fly the way it use too when carrying about 30 pounds of his weight in the air. He slowly then returned to his chair again and took a nice long break from running interference.

I am glad Mr. Trebeck is alright and will recover from his flight down the hall - with hopes that his days of burglar chasing are behind him. Hard way to find out the old muscles have aged even if the mind was still in younger gears.
