Over many days on my mind has been a problem with the homeless in my city, a program was initiated without research or form which in the process has pitted neighbors, city and administrators of the project in constant odds and escalation of the negative without resolution and failing to negotiate a solution. Fear by the public, being left to fend without resources during the day and being dropped at local public facilities has created a scenario which continues to build and lose and likeness to structure of what might have been in the creation on a snowy night November 25th, 2018 and one affluent woman administrating an ongoing guise which lacks the very tools needed.

All I could think is how the group of homeless is here, without means or transportation to leave. WWJD? Would he turn his back and say I have nothing to give, sorry you are hungry and without a bed or means of working ? If you believe this, leave your church immediately – you have learned nothing. He put his faith into substance provided with inspiration from his acts that all was possible, none were left behind in showing fish and bread was there for all and always would be. Knowing a hand up would always surpass a hand out, a belief when in despair what was needed would be there.

As those with more prepare for summer yard sales, pack those belongings and transfer to a shelter for the homeless. Boxes of non-perishable snacks could be handed to the homeless, for the cost of two value meals, six boxes of generic snacks could be given. Many ways are available other than just money to a non-profit which takes .20+ from each dollar for the effort. Tonight on #AmericanIdol #LukeBryan noticed a contestant wearing worn out shoes to audition and immediately gave him the boots on his own feet. No hesitations and only recognizing the need.

I don’t have all the answers to homelessness though by giving a little, inspiration given to the recipient can change lives, inspire hope and felt as if this world cared. If you have a bit extra of the needed products in your day, share that chance with another. While writing this tonight, I could feel a hand on my head as well and we thank you for listening. I first read this about 20 years ago in a email and it came back into my head today. Once read you will never totally forget as a parable is meant to be.   The Parable of the Fork There was a woman who had been diagnosed with a deadly illness and had been given 3 months to live. Her doctor told her to start making preparations to die so she contacted her pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what she wanted to be wearing. The woman also told her pastor that she wanted to be buried with her favorite bible.  Everything was in order and the pastor was preparing to leave when the woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. There's one more thing. She said excitedly. What's that? came the pastor's reply. This is very important. The woman continued. I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.
