Ask and you shall receive the power of prayer
Taking a walk home with my mother at seven years old from her lifelong friend Martha’s home, she was furious. Martha had a screen door which had broken and told my mother she prayed for a new door. My mother considered it just short of blasphemous to pray for material goods such as a screen door. I really wasn’t sure of the right or wrong, though if my mother thought it wrong I accepted her perception of the prayer. For decades I carried the belief before losing any reasoning of such. “ask and you shall receive” wasn’t written with amendments outside of the perception we assign to the words.
Readers from every continent, many island countries along with countries unheard of to myself otherwise are present repeatedly on this blog. Each has personal needs they find struggle for resolution and yet hold a powerful tool to bring resolution, the power of prayer regardless of belief or name assigned to the source of belief. The spiritual universe does respond. I love the beginning of the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart where prayers are being sent in multiples for help and though only one inexperienced angel available, help is sent. I believe in the power of two or more joining in prayer, for quite a few years I have a Facebook page entitled Where Two or More Are Gathered as a tool where either prayers can be posted for the power of prayer to be energized by more than one.
We are on this planet to assist each other, to learn from all available resources and accept beyond what is perceived to be limited. Have you ever watched a plant move and stretch for the best available position to the sunlight in the morning yet at night to curl flowers inward again during the time of the moon? The plant does not possess a human mind or any expectations, just the innate ability to stretch, move and retire. All that is needed is already provided. If this is so in nature void of any verbal request, would that not also be true beyond nature.
When more time is spent in worry/out of faith than in faith/trust the same signals a plant gives and receives without thought, as what is thought to be the more intelligent human mind blocks the sun and wrestles during the moon before asking to receive. Perceptions accepted of being unworthy, beyond available means along with all that moves faith into worry simple words phrased are unsaid. Say a prayer tonight as all is available for you, your neighbor, your family, country and the peace possible on our planet. No request is too big or small in an act of faith. You know your needs and desires, let your source of belief hear you believe if you “Ask you shall receive”.
