Advice from 91 years of experience

 She was born in Austria, still has vivid memories of WW2 and has traveled the world many times over,so I thought I would ask her a question.

Today I asked if there was one piece of advice she would give, what would it be? She spoke of her grandfather and how he asked what was needed of others in order to help people, but everyday started in the church. She said we live in a world where we need to travel and be a part of the world, helping others, remembering the children and to not forget how we traveled.

Today the city of Kansas City, KS is mourning the loss of detective Brad Lancaster, Hearing a call for assistance he was one of the first on the scene regarding a possible car jacking and in responding was shot and killed by a man who had received early parole, serving less than a year of a sentence and released. To hear this made me sick inside, another criminal paroled only to commit murder shortly after wards. A friend of mine in 2004 was left butchered in her flower garden by a man who she had put in prison for domestic violence who had been paroled on good behavior and was seen as not being a threat to society. The Parable of the Fork - Author unknown

I first read this about 20 years ago in a email and it came back into my head today. Once read you will never totally forget as a parable is meant to be.   The Parable of the Fork There was a woman who had been diagnosed with a deadly illness and had been given 3 months to live. Her doctor told her to start making preparations to die so she contacted her pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what she wanted to be wearing. The woman also told her pastor that she wanted to be buried with her favorite bible.  Everything was in order and the pastor was preparing to leave when the woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. There's one more thing. She said excitedly. What's that? came the pastor's reply. This is very important. The woman continued. I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.

Spiritual Windows – My perception   I have been writing for seven years on spirituality through my website http://www.myspiritualwindows.info and in blog form, without addressing my own interpretation of Spiritual Windows.
