Who says you can't go home?

Who says you can’t go home?

Kansas City metro has been following the story of Larry Schnackenberg, Lenexa resident who mysteriously disappeared after being tracked to Shawnee Mission Park earlier this month. Found by a park ranger and friend this week in the park; bug bitten, dehydrated and noticeably at a weight loss the pieces to why he chose abandoning his home are with his family and respected. The focus of this article is not the specific reasons this man felt compelled to do the recent events of his life, rather exploring why a person might feel they are no longer welcome home.

A known phrase “home is where the heart is” has a very true relevancy here which is so often not recognized in the choice or leaving family or the physical home. Throughout the process of running away in any form an understanding you can not run from the home you carry with you regardless of physical location or habitat which resides within you! As pressures of the world intensify for unknown reasons a physical home can also be seen as the weight being carried beyond your comprehension. Chaos and cluttering perception as material rather than internal, until the size of the weight becomes more than an individual can see or express with flight being seen as release. Shortly afterwards, this weight is still felt and carried with full awareness and the feeling you can’t go home.

My all time favorite movie with Jimmy Stewart shows the process of finding the home within in appreciation to return to what was thought to be overwhelming and unwelcome to family or loves in life. Guided by an angel, spirit assists self in a winning ending for all and he can go home. Our Lenexa resident found his way back home via an angel on a trail crossing his path in the form of a park ranger. Runaway children many times find that angel in a phone call allowing them to come home to a family who were oblivious to how heavy the weight of life and home became in their life and the heart of the home was once again open and receiving.

A weighted heart lowers the energy of all perceptions and interactions you acknowledge and carry in life. Like attracting like creates a cycle which can only be broken and uplifted in energy by releasing the weight of the heart home and allowing freedom to express and exchange emotions locked in the stillness of the closure of home which has been created. I have a spiritual energy I have known for a very long time I call Joseph. Through the years I have heard and been contacted by others who Joseph entered their lives for just a moment and changed their destiny. One a teenage girl many years ago was sitting by the ocean in Florida on a cold winter day contemplating ending her life when Joseph sat down beside her to talk. She knew something was different about him since he wore summer attire and showed no signs of being affected by the cold; words exchanged that day changed her mind and her destiny. Another of Joseph sitting down on a bench outside a bookstore with a lady carrying the weight of the world exchanging words once again which lifted the weight she was carrying.

We are not aware of Larry’s story in the woods of Shawnee Mission Park over the last few weeks or what prompted the meeting on a trail with a familiar face and the moments where the weight of his life released into wanting to go home. As a family, love will be the new building blocks in his recovery back to his own acceptance again. Home of the heart brought him back to the physical home and life he had known, his time alone is over. Who said he can’t go home? He did and then he said “yes, I can be home again with the heart of my life. Godspeed Larry to you and your family as you move forward into your new experience of life as the home of the heart has delivered to you and for you.
