Narcissism is the personality trait of egotism denoting vanity, conceit, or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism or an indifference to the plight of others.

 
The name "narcissism" is derived from Greek mythology. Narcissus was a handsome Greek youth who had never seen his reflection, but because of a prediction by an Oracle, looked in a pool of water and saw his reflection for the first time. The nymph
Echo--who had been punished by Hera for gossiping and cursed to forever have the last word—had seen Narcissus walking through the forest and wanted to talk to him, but, because of her curse, she wasn't able to speak first. As Narcissus was walking along, he got thirsty and stopped to take a drink; it was then he saw his reflection for the first time, and, not knowing any better, started talking to it. Echo, who had been following him, then started repeating the last thing he said back. Not knowing about reflections, Narcissus thought his reflection was speaking to him. Unable to consummate his love, Narcissus pined away at the pool and changed into the flower that bears his name, the narcissus.

 
Freud believed that some narcissism is an essential part of all of us from birth.[1] Andrew P. Morrison claims that, in adults, a reasonable amount of healthy narcissism allows the individual's perception of his needs to be balanced in relation to others

 
MANY times each day I read this word being used out of context almost like a "catch" word such as "whatever" in the past. Boomeranged out into the universe and returned with any meaning which concludes the thought in the writers mind. Though it does show the power of repeated thoughts and how they encompass many minds like a traveling spiral connecting and reconnecting through the minds of the masses. For one week, keep a tally of how many times you either, hear or read this word and the redefinition created in the process from the thought statement of the writer or speaker, then reflect after the week concludes how the meaning changed as it traveled through the thoughts.


One word, one thought as a created energy unleashed through the voice tones across the world finding ears to land on in the process and continue to flow through a physical announcement in definition. Books, music, communication are all influenced by this same process of suggestion through the flow of energy. Continually reprocessed and redefined as suggested but yet unique in the interpretation. We are all of one flow of suggestion and understanding yet given individual processing of thought in how we find the perception through our own thinking.


Now take this growing intertwining creation of thought and relate to spiritual meaning. Reading an article this week on Michelangelo and his painting of God in the Sistine Chapel before a time of telescopes are being able to visualize all details of his work, he carefully painted a brain stem on his rendition of God. With the brain stem being the most primal part of the brain, though still the conductor or impulses in being able to think and survive in a mortal body depicting the role of the universal mind in creation, relating "God" as the stem of physical thought process used in maintaining and stabilizing the life force energy of thought.


Connecting to the universal life force is through consciousness creating a pathway through the conscious mind to the unconscious which is more realized in sleep, meditation or altering away from the conscious into the super-conscious state of being, traveling a neural super highway beyond mortal thought to conscious spiritual thought. One word, one thought, one pathway continually being defined much as the example of one word intricately
finding a new pathway through our conscious thoughts.


Unique as your DNA in your perception yet with a common link being expressed by many definitions and names as given in cultures and geographic locations across this world as thoughts travel on.


If the power of one word Narcissism, or Narcissistic thought of the ego being your villain could be changed to understanding this same ego is your boarding platform unto your desired connection – how that meaning would change the energy in bridging understanding
among all cultures knowing religion or separated belief in non-existent in the very state being wished for attainment through beliefs. You have the power to start changes which can move mountains of segregation if you choose to believe in the transmitter you are for change. Embrace that step on your pathway with love rather than shielding the prospect in negative energy at the word alone of ego with you choosing your ride through all levels of consciousness. Allow the stem of your universal mind to connect to the cockpit in riding into your highest forms of thought. You might be surprised what you see in your reflection for the first time, take a drink of life and fulfill your desires.

Today the city of Kansas City, KS is mourning the loss of detective Brad Lancaster, Hearing a call for assistance he was one of the first on the scene regarding a possible car jacking and in responding was shot and killed by a man who had received early parole, serving less than a year of a sentence and released. The Parable of the Fork - Author unknown

I first read this about 20 years ago in a email and it came back into my head today. Once read you will never totally forget as a parable is meant to be.   The Parable of the Fork There was a woman who had been diagnosed with a deadly illness and had been given 3 months to live. Her doctor told her to start making preparations to die so she contacted her pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what she wanted to be wearing. The woman also told her pastor that she wanted to be buried with her favorite bible.  Everything was in order and the pastor was preparing to leave when the woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. There's one more thing. She said excitedly. What's that? came the pastor's reply. This is very important. The woman continued. I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.
